Mums/Dads & Buggies
How does this session work?
All mums/dads are very welcome to this session, it doesn’t matter how old your child is.
The class was initially set up for new parents so it’s a friendly, happy, relaxed environment to start back to training with no pressure to complete the workout and just to join in when you can. As time has moved on I have mums and dads that attend that bring their older children, as this time suits them and they feel confident in joining in on the class.
Babies / children can be in their car seats, buggies or some mums bring in a small pen or travel cot. Most of the mums/dads use this hour for snack time for their children as it keeps them entertained during the class, however there is no problem in stopping what you’re doing to see to your child and then joining back in. As parents we have learnt to multi-task very easily!
Toddlers do walk around however, so it is your responsibility to look after your child although usually Sue or other parents are around to help in this, especially when we are doing a barbell class as safety is paramount.
It’s a super friendly class especially for new parents who might feel anxious on starting back to fitness. Everything can be regressed and you will be looked after by our coaches (who are all mums) and supported safely back to getting fit, and what better example for your young children to see their parents having fun whilst exercising.
The sessions are Mondays & Fridays 1130 - 1230, drop in sessions are £6, but it is also part of a Jolly Sailor membership, if you can attend other sessions.
